Brad’s Killer Hot Dog Sauce

Ingredients
- 1 lb - Lean hamburger
- 3 tbsp - Mustard
- 2 Medium onions, chopped
- 3 tbsp - Sweet pickle relish (optional)
- 1 ½ cup - Ketchup
- ½ cup - White sugar
- ½ cup - Brown sugar
- ½ cup - Sauerkraut, drained
- 2 tbsp - Cocoa powder
Preparation
- Brown hamburger in a large kettle, drain;
- Add onions and continue to cook over medium heat for 5 to 10 minutes,or until onions are soft; Add mustard and ketchup, mix well; Add sugars, pickle relish , and sauerkraut, mix well;
- Bring to a low simmer and let cook for 1 hour uncovered (stirring often). It’s even better on the 2nd day after it’s been refrigerated. I also freeze it too – It keeps for 6 months.
Note: You can also cook this in the crock pot after you brown the burger and saute the onions and it turns out really well!
